Learn to paint an abstracted representation of nature with Susan Lackey. Creating abstract paintings can be daunting, but not in this informative and fun-filled 2-day workshop. Susan will step you through her stress-free process and layered approach, starting with nature as your guide. There will be plenty of interactive time for questions and tips. We will create with acrylics and making tools.

For any experience level. Experience with abstract painting is NOT required.

Comments from Susan’s last Abstracting Nature workshop:

1. Susan is an excellent instructor. She broke the class into manageable sections which gave me time to grasp a concept before moving on to the next think. I learned skills and concepts that will help me in multiple media.

2. I like Susan’s teaching style: listen and watch a little, paint a little, repeat. It’s not overwhelming.

3. This is the first workshop that helped me understand how to apply composition in my work. It just clicked for me with Susan’s explanation, demonstrations, and the examples she showed.

4. I’ve never been taught how to self-critique my work before this workshop. Now see how important it is and I feel comfortable doing it with Susan’s “What Else Checklist” handout.
