The Artwalk in Downtown Concord is bringing YOU to ClearWater!

Join us on Saturday, April 6th from 11 am - 4 pm for Spring Art Walk hosted by Cabarrus Arts Council  and @concorddowntown and sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company.

Art Walk is an all-day arts festival for artists and makers to sell their handmade artwork. Art Walk will feature live music, food trucks, local brews and wines, and participation from the boutiques, shops, and restaurants throughout Downtown Concord.

ART IS SPOKEN HERE!!

Resident artists will be available in their studios, working and prepared to engage with questions and interactions. This event is open to all and free of charge, so please feel welcome to join us.

Featured Gallery Exhibit, This Month, Main Gallery:

LOCAL RETIRED OB-GYN DOCTOR NOW DELIVERS PAINTINGS, NOT BABIES;

‘Adventures in Color’ will be on view in ClearWater’s Main Gallery, Nov. 2, 2019- Jan. 5, 2020. 

Dr. Wanda Jenkins, an Obstetrician  and Gynecologist in Concord for 20+ years, took care of many women in her practice, and delivered thousands of babies.  She is a native of Concord. Having painted occasionally during her professional years as an OB/Gyn., in retirement she has actively explored color and texture in landscapes, florals, and abstracts, predominantly using oil paints. She has studied with various expert artists through the years, and is inspired partly by her Grandmother’s career in painting.  

Dr. Jenkins is partnering with ClearWater Arts Center & Studios, which seeks out local talent for its ‘Guest Artist’ shows. Her solo art exhibit in the Main Gallery will feature over 40 of her paintings. The show will also feature her Dichroic glass freehand jewelry sets.  All works are for sale unless otherwise noted.

The public is invited to an Opening Reception, with Dr. Jenkins’ Artist Talk, on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 4:00-6:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

WELCOME! To our monthly 'open house' of artist studios, complete with a plethora of working artists in them! Every 2nd Saturday, ClearWater Artist Studios in Concord, NC opens its doors with a selection of the leasing artists present and available in/ doors open to, their working art studios. Come see what artists are making, chat with them and ask questions, maybe even buy some art for your loved ones! With Southern Piedmont Woodturners also in attendance and possibly running demonstrations on their lathes in Studio #122.

FEATURED GALLERY SHOW AND SIMULTANEOUS LIVE EVENT - FREE/ PUBLIC INVITED!

Mikel Frank, curator of Visual Strategies: A Collaborative Project -- our new Exhibition for July- August, 2018--will facilitate the 3rd and final Live Event  in conjunction with our new Exhibition and Related Events: Family Collaboration Painting Day! (click for details). All families or individuals welcome to bring your kids and help create new large-format collage/painting artworks, which will then be added to the exhibition!  

"Visual Strategies: A Collaborative Project" at ClearWater Artist Studios, is being organized by two collaborators: local artist/ curator, Mikel Frank, who recently moved to Concord from New York City area and a 29-year career at the Met Museum of Art, and is now an adjunct art instructor at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College; and collaborating curator & artist, Carl Heyward,  founder of the Global Art Project, who is out on the West Coast.

Participating artists from the Global Art Project (GAP) shipped their jointly-made works in from all over the world for the exhibit, which is on view in the ClearWater Gallery through Friday, August 24, 2018.

Visual Strategies: A Collaborative Project (FaceBook page) is a Guest exhibit / set of events this Summer at ClearWater Artist Studios. It is being organized by two collaborators: local artist/ curator, Mikel Frank, and collaborating curator & artist, Carl Heyward. Frank recently moved to Charlotte from the New York City area and a 29-year career at the Met Museum of Art, and is now an adjunct art instructor at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and Gaston College; Carl Heyward is an artist and founder of the Global Art Project, and lives and works out on the West Coast. 

Participating artists from the Global Art Project (GAP) are shipping their jointly-made works in from all over the world for the exhibit, and there will be three live-collaborative-painting events, including one that's for YOU (or anyone) to participate in, on Saturday August 11!

This is in conjunction with our new Exhibition and Related Events:

Our monthly art Open House!

SPECIAL EVENT THIS MONTH, on this day!

 The 4th Annual, Sun Drop Pound Cake Portrait Paint Off Extravaganza!

Accordingly, doors will open at Noon today instead of our usual, 2nd Saturday time of 10am.  The Paint-Off will start at 3pm with Artist (and cake, gift basket, etc.) set-up; Painters start with the Emcee kicking off at 4:00 sharp!  The Paint-Off ends at 6pm.
