The Southern Piedmont Woodturners Association leases a large space here at ClearWater Artist Studios (Studio 122), and has about 65 local members. Vince Keipper will be demonstrating how he makes ice cream scoops and bottle stoppers. Vince has been a woodturner for about four years and loves to show the grain and beauty of different woods. He likes to make practical items like scoops and stoppers as well as bowls and platters. Vince is very active in SPW and we are excited for him giving his first demonstration. Please join us via zoom on Tuesday evening. Feel free to invite friends from other clubs to join us.

Our meeting starts at 6:30pm. Cindy has created a waiting room within Zoom for anyone who logs in early so that you can chat with other early arrivals. Remember, this is yet another new process for us so be patient as we work through any snags in the system.
The MONTHLY CHALLENGE project for June is a 3” OR TALLER FINIAL. Please consider making one item for the challenge or provide one show and tell item that you have recently turned to share with the club. You will need to make sure your AUDIO and VIDEO are on when connecting to Zoom. Please see our website for information on the meeting and Zoom.

The Southern Piedmont Woodturners meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm. We meet at our studio (#122) at Clearwater Artist Studios, 223 Crowell Drive NW, Concord, NC 28025. Members begin to arrive around 5:30 pm and the program is usually finished by 9:00 pm.
We usually have an "Instant Gallery" of members’ items they bring to demonstrate how previous demonstrators have influenced their work. We also have a raffle of items to raise funds for the club.
In addition to Clearwater Artist Studios, the SPW is associated with the Cabarrus County Arts Council (CCAC), the American Association of Woodturners (AAW), and the North Carolina Woodturners Association (NCWA).
